Location: Apartado, Colombia
After boating to Turbo, I hit the road for a day to Apartado, in search of a place to regroup my oxidizing life. Blown out boots to the shoe repair. rusted out snaps and torn clothes to the tailor. rusting bike to the motorcycle shop for a complete bike overhaul and a place to sleep. cyber cafe for a month of web site updates. haircut. mail the SPOT back to america since the ocean killed it. find polarized sunglasses. new clothes since almost everything has been lost or ruined on this trip so far. here I am for a few more days. running errands. making new friends. enjoying the food of Colombia.

salt water got into 2 out of 3 dry bags, so everything was a mess and or ruined |
Tatanka got a hell of a beating in the 2 hour boat ride to Turbo sometimes catching a foot of air before slamming back down as we crossed through the towering chop. |
Arrival in Turbo told the source of all those supply boats. |
Yeah, there are plenty like this. |
but they all have their own style. |
I celebrated arrival in South America with a meal of rice, beans, fried bananas, fried hamburger patties, and cake |
Welcome to Turbo. A great place to leave. |
Time to change my 7/8'' drive bottom bracket tool into a 22mm. much more useful. Sorry Phil. |
Serious cheater bar action to pull the aluminum cups out of the steal frame. |
I leave you with a Suzuki LJ80 |
with alloy wheels, dragons, and a roof rack |
Scorpion web! |

As I ended my bicycle tour in Panama city, then flew to Cartagena and took a boat from Turbo to Capurgana, I remember thinking how my bicycle would be bent up beyond repair during the journey from Turbo. It's really really rouch water. I myself could hardly walk the next day, my spine was so bruised.
